The tornado (and a Wal-Mart semi truck) tore through the house of Tabitha's brother, along with 8,000 other homes.
Inspired to help, Tabitha and family started doing volunteer work in Joplin at a donation center.
Tabitha saw help pouring in for the people and pets of the city--but what about later? What happens to the lost, abandoned or needy animals after a year--two years, more? Shelters are overwhelmed daily, and seriously lack funding. Tabitha wanted to find an ongoing way to help the needy, scared and suffering animals find hope and help.
